Arrowwood viburnum (Viburnum dentatum) is an upright, multi-stem shrub, very popular in the American landscape. It can grow from 6-10′ and beyond in optimal conditions, with a comparable spread. In late spring it has fragrant white flowers which give way to dark colored berry-like drupes. Very winter hardy, and reliable. Can be used as a tall hedge, screen, or background for a native planting. Supposedly Native Americans took advantage of its straight stems to craft arrows.
